From North: Take I-75/85 south to Exit 248-C (Freedom Parkway), go 1.1 miles to fork in road, bearing right to Carter Center. Passing the Carter Center on your left, follow parkway past the Carter Center until it dead-ends at Moreland Avenue. Street parking available on Druid Place: turn left onto Moreland Ave then third right is Druid Place. From South/Airport: Take I-75/85 north to Exit 248-C (International Blvd/ Freedom Parkway), bear right to Freedom Parkway, continue straight 1 mile to fork in road, bearing right to Carter Center. Keeeping the Carter Center on your left, follow parkway past the Carter Center until it dead-ends at Moreland Avenue. From Downtown: Take Peachtree to Ellis Avenue, which is one block south of International Blvd and is a one way to the east. Take Ellis Ave to the east, following signs to Freedom Parkway. Continue straight 1.1 miles to fork in road, bearing right to Carter Center, to Moreland Ave. From Decatur: Take Ponce de Leon west to Moreland Avenue. Via Public Transport (MARTA): Catch the #16 MARTA bus from downtown near the Five Points MARTA station or Wesley Woods, to the North Highland Ave/Carter Center section of Freedom Park. Check the schedule here. All Day Off-Street Parking: Parking is available at several different access points to leisurely walk along the paths in Freedom Park to see the art. On the east side, parking is available during the summer at Mary Lin Elementary School on Candler Park Drive. On the west side, off-street parking is available at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Historic Site off Boulevard, on John Wesley Dobbs and Irwin Streets. Free parking is also available at The Carter Center where there are some permanent sculptures on the grounds. Parking all day on the streets in the neighborhoods surrounding Freedom Park is discouraged as it may interfere with the area residents. |
