Reflecting is a part of the regular experience of human
beings from the daily experience of viewing one's self in a mirror to meditating over
past events, people and experiences. The experience of reflection in the installation
is provided by a group of semi-reflective polished stainless steel panels suspended among
a group of trees. The installation will provide park visitors with an opportunity to
experience and witness themselves in context and in relation to the natural decay and
rejuvenation of herbaceous and urban life in and around the park. The artist's intention
is to give park visitors the ability to see themselves from multiple perspectives in
relation to and apart of the landscape of social change.
Freedom Park Spatial Collage features a thirty foot long undulating
wall with photographic transparencies dealing with architecturally inspired imagery.
Exploring alternative processes in photography, this panoramic landscape of Arabia Mountain (located 20 minutes from downtown Atlanta) is printed on 20" x 20" aluminum plates using Rockland's Liquid Light Emulsion and mounted on several arched aluminum plates 4' high. |
